Cross Country

On Tuesday the 30th of August we did Cross Country. I raced in the 10 year old race. After cross country I felt really tired. I ran 5 laps. I felt really relieved that we didn't have to run at Minogue park because it was mostly hills at Minogue park.

Wacky Olympics

Last week on Friday the senior syndicate had our Wacky Olympics. Wacky Olympics is where we have 4 sports/games from the Olympics and turned them into wacky games/sports. The events were Coin Toss, Discus Plate Throw, Straw Javelin and the Wheelbarrow race. Room 14 were supporting Swaziland with flags, coloured clothes and singing "Swaziland, Dab, Dab, Dab". We had a torch relay in the opening ceremony at the start. Swaziland won 2 medals, we won gold in paper plate discus and bronze in coin toss.

Clay Sculptures Reflections

1.For my clay work I am creating a hand with the peace symbol.
2.The title of my sculpture is Peace; I want my viewers to be reminded about peace.
3. I have enjoyed just messing around with the clay; they're are lots of cool things you can do with clay, also making my sculpture.
4. The hardest part was trying to make my sculpture stand up.

Flox Artwork Reflection

1. First we had to choose our native bird. Mrs Gunn had printed our bird out and we had to cut it out. Then we painted the background, then we either painted our bird or our leaves with sponges.
2. The easiest part was sponging the artwork.
3.  The most difficult part was when sponging with the stencil it moves and messes up the artwork.
4. My favourite part about about the finished piece is that it looks really cool.
5. If I could do it again I would add the Pohutukawa leaves and some other flowers.

Museum Visit

Last week we went to the museum, to study our focus on art. I saw lots of art from some New Zealand artists. I learnt that art is a message, Zena Elliott likes to do Maori designs in her art and lots of different types of art. My favourite part was when we designed and coloured in the pou.

'Splash' as I fell in the lake, "That's not how you kayak" said Niall. Firstly Kerin taught us how to steer and go straight. He told us that the kayaks we're designed for turning, so it would be hard to go straight. At first it was uncomfortable position to be in but I got used to it really fast.

Getting used to the water was really easy because it wasn't that cold. I felt the wet slimy water dripping down my spine. We then played some games like stuck in the mud and follow the leader. It was my first time kayaking but I picked it up really fast.

Stuck ion the mud was fun although my team lost. When we played follow the leader a few people fell behind as we only just got in the water and some people have never kayaked before.

Then our group kayaked out a few metres. It was really easy, I've learnt a lot on that activity. We all then raced back to the start to move on to the next activity. 'Splash' as I fell in the water, "That's not how you kayak" said Niall

This term our main focus has been Collaboration.
My favourite Collaboration activity has been the paper shape try and make. To do this we had to cut and fold a normal peice of A4 paper we cut it. Then we folded it and made it successfully.
Because it was really easy and fun.
I think I did CIA Agent the best because I got expert and I did it really well.
I found Interpreter hardest because I got novice.
